Naked Bird Watching – how much lower can it get?

January 27, 2010

Sorry I have been out of touch. I had personal issues that I had to tend to. Luckily, my lovely volunteers were helping me to collect signatures and prepare for our new campaign.

Today as I was having my morning coffee, I went to YouTube and randomly put in “bird watching”. Sure enough, the top result was “Naked Bird Watching”. Yes, the girl was hot – but was she moral, that’s the question?”

They call it “avian erotica”

March 1, 2009

Yes, one might think initially it is pretty cute. Except, one wouldn’t like it if he were the one being used for “science”.

To find out whether a bird is paying attention these days, it seems you have to get a little risqué.

That’s what a researcher at McMaster University in Hamilton did in a recent study to determine whether Japanese quail can recognize images on a video screen as being from real life.

Alex Ophir, 28, a PhD student in the department of psychology and author of the study that soon will appear in the journal Animal Behaviour, has been showing what amounts to avian erotica to numerous eligible female quail, to see how they respond.

Reposting from New York Bird Club

Discussion: http://www.websitetoolbox.com/tool/post/luciedove/vpost?id=3334365

Today I went to Chase bank at 86Th St and York Ave (445 E. 86 St. – Channel Club Condominium) and I stopped to say hello to the elder gentleman that sits in the garden area, in front of the bank, to feed breadcrumbs to a few pigeons. Very sadden with tears in his eyes, he told me “This morning I counted 8 dead pigeons here, they are killing the birds! This sweet man has not been told, by anybody in the area, not to feed the birds.

The cowards that are poisoning the birds are doing it while nobody sees them. Isn’t it illegal to kill/poison wild-life in New York?

I remember, a few years ago, dozens of pigeons were being poisoned at that same corner, the building that was killing the birds was 126 East 86 St. People even posted signs outside the bank stating that the building was poisoning birds and the killings suddenly stopped.
Is there anything that could be done to stop this bastards? Is there any local animal welfare agency that would actually do something about this crime?

SPB campaign in the UK

November 1, 2008

This was my first trip to London and people embraced me and my campaign with enthusiastic fervor. Good Conduct Society members in the UK assisted me with an initial protest to STOP BIRD PORN in Hyde Park at Speakers’ Corner. As I stood on a soapbox surrounded by dozens of people, mostly tourists, Ben and Emily passed out hundreds of flyers explaining our mission to brand Bird Watchers as voyeurs. And I urged the growing crowd  of onlookers to LEAVE THE BIRDS ALONE! It doesn’t take a space scientist or member of MENSA to realize that birds do not appreciate PEEPING TOMS when they are engaged in lovemaking.

I found London to be a charming city with friendly people. On the downside, hotels are expensive, the phones don’t work well and bathtubs were built for midgets. In fact, everything is small in Great Britain. It is a tiny country that has to treasure every inch of space. There are rows of houses along small winding streets, many cobblestone ones, that are probably occupied by Lilliputians. Each home has a chimney because burning wood is cheaper than buying oil for heat.

Bird Watching has been a passionate pursuit in the British Isles for centuries. I suspect that aspect of vicarious sexual gratification by their citizens has maintained necessary population control. So, sewing your seeds in the woods helps keep the kids away. There just isn’t enough space.  Nevertheless, birds have feelings too and would like to fuck without being spied upon by a lot of horny Brits who could just as well masturbate at home.

Altogether I wish our former captors could just LEAVE THE BIRDS ALONE!

KRUEGER SLAMS PIGEON SHOOTS
Our Town

September 22, 2008

State Sen. Liz Krueger sent a letter to the Pennsylvania State Legislature to push a ban on live pigeon shoots, which she says causes poachers to target New York City. There is a bill sitting in the Pennsylvania legislature that would ban live-animal shoots.“If the Pennsylvania pigeon shoot market for live birds to target in these competitions were ended through legislation, these pigeon nettings would undoubtedly dramatically decline and most likely, cease,” Krueger wrote.
